A six-day transformative retreat blending daily yoga practice, island culture, nature, art, food, and community in the beautiful coastal village of La Parguera, Lajas, Puerto Rico. Guests will experience Puerto Rico beyond the typical tourist path through intentional movement, cultural exploration, local experiences, and opportunities to slow down and reconnect. In addition, we will explore the history of yoga in resistance and justice work. This retreat is more than a vacation—it is an opportunity to immerse yourself in the spirit of Puerto Rico and to learn more about the roots of yoga all while nourishing your body, mind, and soul.

Sunee LaClaire is the owner and director of YogaSole LLC, where she brings a thoughtful, empowering approach to Yoga and mat Pilates that reflects her deep dedication to lifelong learning, functional movement, and community care. In addition, Sunee is currently exploring the connection of yoga and community organizing and resistance work.
Arelis Hernandez is a 500 hr registered yoga teacher who strives to design a yoga practice that is accessible to all levels with sequences structured around rational progression, an emphasis on alignment, breath work, and modifications for their unique physicality. Arelis started her yoga journey over 20 years ago as a young college student looking for relief and healing from Lupus, an autoimmune disease. Yoga not only helped her regain her physical and mental resilience it also gave her a new found awareness of the body and all it is capable of. Arelis received her 200-hour yoga teacher training in 2022 followed by her 500 hour RYT certification in 2024 at Abhaya Dumbo. Arelis’ teaching philosophy is centered on helping people progress in their practice by starting with the foundational basics of alignment, breath and movement ensuring they understand the language but also the mechanics of each pose. Arelis is passionate about yoga’s transformative power uniting mind, body and spirit towards wellness and wholeness.

We’ll e staying at La Jamaca hotel and restaurant in La Parguera Lajas, Puerto Rico. Nestled between Cabo Rojo and Ponce, this coastal town hosts a diverse nature reserve, several cays, and one of Puerto Rico’s three bioluminescent bays.
