Nourish your body, mind, and senses in this two-hour workshop designed for deep relaxation. You will flow through a carefully crafted therapeutic yoga sequence to prepare the body for a series of restorative postures. Lisa will guide you to release blocked energy and shed layers of deeply held tension through restoratives, soothing music and sound, and aromatherapy (essential oils).

We will target high-stress muscles through self-massage on The Roll Model(R) Method therapy balls. We will engage in simple flowing and rocking stretches to relax tissues while soothing the nervous system. We will practice breath techniques to expand and empower the muscle of your heart. The workshop will culminate with a meditative journey into a place of deep peace. Appropriate for all levels.

Good alignment is therapeutic; In the Yoga Lab, you will learn the key actions and alignment that keep you safe, strengthen and tone your body, and ultimately offer you the ability to expand your yoga horizons. Each week we will focus on a different region of the body. Students with injuries as well as those who are looking to gain more knowledge about poses or advance their practice are welcome.

A pelvic floor workshop for everyone.
You may have heard about the pelvic floor. Like JD Salinger, it gets a lot of accolades but is generally reclusive. One of the classic "body locks" of Hatha yoga, the pelvic floor is a network of muscles that has the power to inform every yoga pose, promote continence, aid childbirth, improve sex, and help any body age gracefully -- a pretty spectacular list.
-But which muscles do make up the pelvic floor? -How do I know if they're working? -What is a "body lock" and what does that have to do with it? -Can I really work on my pelvic floor in public?
The answer to the last question is: yes! This is a muscle group like any other, just one surrounded by a lot of hype and mystery. So let's answer those other questions -- and demystify -- together.
Suitable for yogis and non-yogis, men and women, this two-hour workshop will use anatomical information to shine a light (figuratively) on the muscles of the pelvic floor. We'll talk about the role they play in yoga poses and everyday movement. We'll try some some visualization exercises and classic Kegels to tune into our own beautiful pelvic floor muscle group, and then we'll put them to use in a variety of yoga poses, learning to strengthen and stretch the muscles for optimum efficiency. Finally, we'll see if we can discover for ourselves why the ancient yogis thought this "root lock" was so very special.

Hands on Heaven

A two hour Yin (slow,sweet, long held poses) Class in which you will be manually adjusted, cued, and guided in every single pose. Think the attention of a semi private class, within the community of a small group. If you enjoy learning through hands on guidance, if you always crave that personal manual attention during pigeon pose...this is your class.
Class size will be limited to 10 people maximum, to ensure that every student receives personal attention- first my eyes on you're alignment, then hands on adjusting in each pose. Think a Restorative Iyengar pace rather than Vinyasa. Meaning we won't be flowing, I'll be leading you through a series of poses you'll hold for several minutes each (don't worry, we'll be using plenty of prop support) We'll close with an extra long Savasana (and yes that does mean extra long head massage for everyone...)
You'll deepen you're practice in a mindful, meditative way, calm the nervous system, get the feeling of bodywork and yoga intertwined...and leave feeling like you've learned something, And that you've had a massage.
If you've ever taken a class from Miriam before, you know that cuing through touch, hands on adjusting, and bodywork are integral parts of her class. This is taking that to the next level. (In addition to teaching Yoga, Miriam is a trained Thai Massage Practitioner as well.)

PREGNANCY is an ideal time to start a yoga practice, or to deepen an ongoing practice. The pregnant body changes from day to day, offering a unique opportunity to continually refresh the beginner’s mind. This series will offer mommies-to-be tools to mindfully experience pregnancy.
We will focus on developing the specific types of strength and suppleness required for pregnancy and birth, including the pelvic floor, abdomen, low back and hips. Students will cultivate self-awareness and confidence in their own intuition.
Asana and transitions will be carefully chosen to serve the needs of the particular women in the class, taking into account the stages of pregnancy and any specific concerns or diagnoses. We will practice gentle standing sequences as well as seated and restorative poses. Modifications will be offered to address issues such as nausea, fatigue, swelling and soreness.
The SERIES will foster a community spirit, giving pregnant moms the opportunity to share their experiences and learn from each other.

In this one-of-a-kind workshop you will confront imprints of low self-esteem and low self-worth, locate where you need more confidence in daily life and learn techniques to engender a bolder, freer, completely unapologetic sense of self. There will be a combination of written work, breath work, yoga postures and meditation techniques.

Zen Meditation Workshop Date: TBA Time: 2:00pm-3:30 PM
Meditation can calm your mind and body, give you an increased sense of well-being or even provide you with a direct path to enlightenment. Different people need and find different things in this practice, but in the final analysis we all come for the same thing: a more content experience of everyday life.
If you have wondered if meditation is right for you or if you have meditated in another tradition and want to try Zen, please join us.
No experience is required, everyone is welcome. We will have several periods of silent sitting meditation and walking meditation, plus a short talk, discussion, and a question and answer period
The workshop will be led by Genno Linda King, a fellow yoga student at Yoga Sole and Rinzai Zen practitioner of 16 years.
