| Prenatal Yoga
6 week Series led by Beth Kruger
Give yourself
and your baby the gift of relaxation, calm and confidence in the body
and mind….
The BENEFITS of regularly attending a prenatal yoga class during pregnancy are truly inspiring.
In our classes we teach
yoga poses specific to making you more comfortable in your pregnancy—strengthening muscles for better posture, flexibility and a stronger body, as well as stretching muscles to relieve aches, and release tension.
THESE CLASSES will also help to strengthen your pelvic floor muscles to
facilitate labor, improve circulation, aid in digestion, and exercise
the spine. The resulting body awareness will help you feel more
connected and in tune with you ever-changing body.
Through the poses, breath-work, discussion of alternative birthing
positions and relaxation techniques you will feel more confident in
your body and mind to handle the challenges of labor and delivery.
Regular attendance assures that you will consistently practice these
exercises for greater benefits, as well as build a community of support
through meeting and connecting with other mothers-to-be.
Beneficial at any stage of pregnancy. No previous experience necessary.
Dates: Saturdays, September 12th thru October 31st 12:30pm —2:00pm

| Beth Kruger & family |
|
| Beth began her study of yoga in 2000, upon moving from Vermont to New York City. She completed her 500 hour certification with ISHTA yoga in 2004. She completed a prenatal training with NYC’s Prenatal Yoga Center, in 2008. She has also studied with Master Iyengar teacher Glenn Black, and Master Ashtanga teacher David Swenson.
Beth began teaching Prenatal yoga in 2005 while pregnant with her first child. Her first daughter came along with her to teach Mommy and Me classes shortly after her birth. Welcoming two children into her life has truly been her greatest teacher.
Beth is passionate about natural childbirth, and breastfeeding—and offers this to her students as they discover what works for their lives. She encourages her students to infuse their own practice and lives with acceptance, compassion, and patience. Beth is now studying to become a certified Lamaze Childbirth Educator. She will complete her course work and sit for the exam in 2010.

| Runner's Workshop w/Julie Brooker
Postponed until Fall Date TBA
Pre-Registration Required
Workshop $35
Early Registration by July 12th $30
Whether you're training for your next marathon
or just jog the dog around the block, adding yoga to your running
routine can improve your performance and decrease your risk of injury.
While most runners are familiar with aches and pains, most running
injuries are not from the running in and of itself but from imbalances
that running causes and exacerbates. Yoga for runners is far more than
stretching after your run! Yoga can help you improve your balance and
strength, increase joint stability, and expand your range of motion.
Come learn how to build your own practice to train your body, breath,
and mind for maximum performance and running enjoyment for years to
come!
*Bring your RUNNING SHOES, we will be going out on a short jog. NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY
Julie Brooker
was initially drawn to yoga in an attempt to balance the pounding
physical demands of running. Her practice soon opened up to all yoga
has to offer (besides the obvious physical benefits) and has been
delivering asana, pranayama, mindfulness, and karmic yoga opportunities
as a teacher since 2005. Julie primarily teaches a strong Vinyasa based
flow but also draws inspiration from other styles in order to allow
room for creativity and adaptation in her teaching. Julie sees yoga as
a way for one to transform their relationship with their body,
true-self, and world and strives to encourage her students to discover
these possibilities. Her classes fuse precise alignment with juicy
self-exploration and radical self-acceptance. Julie ran the San
Francisco Marathon in 2006 with the San Francisco AIDS Marathon team
and currently runs recreationally with the New York Road Runners. She credits her yoga practice for allowing her to run joyfully despite a history of asthma and knee injuries.
